What?
Stats Panel shows an app’s resident memory, including its main process and bundled helper processes.
Why can Activity Monitor differ?
Activity Monitor uses different memory accounting, may list helpers separately and may measure them at a different moment.
What matters?
Use the app list to spot high resident memory use. Use Memory Pressure to see whether your Mac is short of usable memory.
